Set within beautiful countryside surroundings, the session will provide participants with the opportunity to learn safe shooting techniques, develop confidence, and enjoy a day alongside fellow veterans in a relaxed environment. Fully supervised instruction and safety guidance will be provided throughout the experience by qualified professionals.
For many veterans, activities like this are about far more than simply trying something new. They are about rebuilding connections, reducing isolation, supporting wellbeing, and rediscovering the camaraderie that so many miss after leaving service. Spending time together in positive environments can have a powerful impact on mental health, confidence, and community belonging.
The monthly HIVE meetups have already shown how important these shared spaces are for veterans in the Forest of Dean. Expanding into additional activities such as fly fishing and clay pigeon shooting allows the Armed Forces Support Network to continue creating meaningful opportunities for veterans to engage, socialise, and support one another.
No prior experience is necessary, and beginners are warmly encouraged to attend. Further information regarding dates, transport, accessibility, and equipment will be shared with those who register their interest.
If you would like to take part in the Veterans Clay Pigeon Shooting Experience, or would simply like more information about future activities, please get in touch with the Forest of Dean Armed Forces Support Network.
Come along, meet other veterans, learn new skills, and enjoy a great day out together.
