Together We Continue to Serve
Become a Supporter or Sponsor of the Forest of Dean Veterans HIVE
Your support can help turn a veteran's suggestion into an experience, an experience into a friendship, and a friendship into a reason to get out of the house.
The Forest of Dean Armed Forces Support Network HIVE brings together veterans, serving personnel and their families from across the Forest of Dean.
Our monthly HIVE is a welcoming place to meet, talk, access support and reconnect with the camaraderie that can sometimes be lost after leaving military service.
But we want to do more.
More Than a Monthly Meeting
Loneliness and social isolation can have a profound impact on veterans and their families.
That is why we are developing a programme of activities designed with veterans, not simply for veterans.
We ask the people attending our HIVE what they would like to experience, learn or get involved with — and then we work to make those ideas happen.
Veterans have already expressed an interest in:
- Archery
- Target and clay pigeon shooting
- Fly fishing
- Drone flying and certification
- Amateur radio
- Outdoor and nature-based activities
- Skills, training and learning opportunities
- Social and wellbeing activities
And the list continues to grow.
These activities are not simply days out.
They are opportunities to meet people, rebuild confidence, learn new skills, rediscover purpose and create friendships.
Help Us Turn Ideas Into Opportunities
There are approximately 4,000 veterans living in the Forest of Dean.
With the support of local businesses, organisations and individuals, we want to create a sustainable programme that gives more members of our Armed Forces community opportunities to participate, connect and belong.
You can help us make that happen.
Supporter — £100
Help towards the practical costs of bringing veterans together, including equipment, refreshments, transport and making activities accessible to those who might otherwise struggle to participate.
Bronze Sponsor — £250
Help make a meaningful contribution towards an activity or give a group of veterans the opportunity to experience something new together.
Silver Sponsor — £500
Help us provide activities, training opportunities and specialist sessions throughout the year.
Gold Sponsor — £1,000
Make a substantial contribution towards a programme of activities and help us reach and engage more veterans across the Forest of Dean.
Platinum Sponsor — £2,500
Become one of the major supporters of our programme and help us create lasting opportunities for veterans and their families.
Every Contribution Matters
Whether you support us with £100 or £2,500, you become part of something much bigger.
You help us create:
- Connection instead of isolation.
- Friendship instead of loneliness.
- Opportunity instead of exclusion.
- Something to look forward to.
And, just as importantly, you are helping veterans shape the activities and opportunities they tell us they want.
What Does Becoming a Sponsor Mean?
We want our relationship with sponsors to be a partnership.
Depending on your level of support, we can recognise your contribution through the Forest of Dean Armed Forces Support Network website and our communications, and we welcome opportunities to build longer-term relationships with businesses and organisations that share our commitment to the Armed Forces community.
Sponsors and supporters are also warmly invited to attend a HIVE meeting and meet the people behind the programme.
The HIVE takes place on the second Wednesday of every month at Cinderford Rugby Club, next to Tesco.
Come along, have a coffee and see what your support can help make possible.
